What is your biggest spiritual pain point?

One of the questions I get asked the most related to the journals is “what journal should I get?”

I thought it was time I shared the process that I recommend when thinking through these journals. And bonus? We FINALLY created a free printable so you can test out the monthly format! (More info below!)

But back to the process. Let’s start with this question:

WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST SPIRITUAL PAIN POINT?

  • What makes your heart ache?
  • What do you feel like is most missing from your day?
  • What do you feel like is most missing from your life?
  • What do you know you want to change, but struggle to know how to?

Here are some pain points that you might have and which journal might be the best fit for you.

CONSTANTLY DISTRACTED WHEN YOU TRY TO PRAY

Yearly or Undated Women’s – Y’all. I say it all the time. It’s just sooo easy to get distracted in our world. Having a place for your wandering mind and eyes to land can be life-changing. My prayers are radically different when I pray with my journal than without it. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll have some beautiful prayer times without my journal but to be honest, this is rare because I normally get distracted before I get to the deep stuff. Start with one of our most popular journals if you can’t seem to focus in your prayer time. We’ve got two options, our 6-month undated that can be started at any time or our 2018 yearly prayer journal, the Rolls-Royce (or is Tesla more current?) of prayer journals.

FEELING LIKE YOU DON’T KNOW ENOUGH ABOUT PRAYER

Fresh Start – Start with our FRESH START! It’s a 31 day devotional on prayer. I have read lots of books on prayer and studied how Jesus prayed and prayer in general in the Bible and incorporated the best of it into this study. You’ll learn what to do when God doesn’t answer, our biggest prayer enemy, the productivity of prayer, blessings, confession, etc. After writing this, I actually felt a ton more confident to pray. Knowledge is power. And honestly, knowledge gives us the power to actually believe and have faith which is the most important ingredient for your prayer life. The VMP Society is going through the Fresh Start in December as a way to prepare for 2018 and cultivate a habit of praying so you basically get a running start into the new year. If you are doing an Advent study, this won’t take the place of that! It’s short and prayer-focused. Follow along on Insty or FB.

FEELING LIKE YOU DON’T HAVE ENOUGH PASSION FOR PRAYER

Fresh Start – Yep. This one again. The more you know plus focusing on prayer for 31 days will increase how much you pray. And the more you pray consistently, the deeper your prayer life becomes. I shared a post a few months back about the power of consistency and what it does for us. Along with the 31-day devotional, this journal also includes one month of our simple prayer journal format. Waking up for a month straight and hearing about prayer and then taking action on it by lifting up your own prayers to God is going to be powerful!

CONSUMED WITH WORRY FOR YOUR KIDS

Your Life Lifted – Friend, take those worries and concerns to the big guy. There is something about surrendering my girls to the Lord in prayer that brings me untold peace. As I pray, I’m completely aware that He loves them more than I do and my requests are not falling on deaf ears. In this journal, you will be guided to intentionally lift up your little ones to the Lord and keep track of answered prayers along the way.

WAITING WAITING WAITING

Prayer Memoirs – This is an heirloom piece to write down (or draw) all the ways God has answered prayer throughout your life. My hope is that it will give you confidence in the dry seasons that God is still working behind the scenes. I know I can tolerate a lot more when I know God is in control than if I feel like He forgot about me. Seeing God’s past faithfulness is the very thing that brings me back to His truth and helps me wait with peace and contentment.

FRUSTRATED THIS SEASON OF LIFE MEANS LITTLE OR NO QUIET TIME

Expectant Cards – These were birthed during my own season of little to no morning time with the Lord and in a season I DESPERATELY needed to be in His presence. It was this season that I realized I wanted the conversation to last all day in a real and meaningful way. And I wanted to ask more questions instead of just telling God everything I need. Our Expectant Cards have a verse on one side and some paraphrases or notes on the back from other translations that you can think and pray throughout the day. There’s also a question on each so you  can listen intently and expectantly for God to speak to you.

WANTING TO INSTILL THE VALUE OF PRAYER IN YOUR FAMILY

Family Prayer Calendar – I don’t just want to become a prayer warrior. I want to teach my kids to be one too. Honestly, without my mom praying over me so much as a child, I really don’t think I would be doing what I’m doing. I learned the importance of prayer at a young age and our Family Prayer Calendars were designed to effortlessly place prayer in front of our families eyes every time we look at our month or plan out our week.

YOU FALL INTO BED FEELING LIKE THE DAY WAS A COMPLETE BLUR

Fresh Outlook – It happens to all of us. Days turn into weeks which turn into years and before we know it, we hardly know where the time went! This is your chance to be still. To recapture more of what you see God doing in your life. With just six little lines for each day, this is an unintimidating reflection practice to add to your bedtime routine. Before you know it, you’ll be processing all of the things that make up your life with God’s truth as your guide.

WANTING TO NOT JUST KEEP YOUR KIDS ALIVE BUT GO BEYOND

Family Creed – Something switched in me one day when I realized that I could parent in a proactive instead of a reactive way. And what was even cooler was seeing how that proactiveness gave me energy and a joy to parent well. I stopped surviving and our home started flourishing. Our Family Creed has prompts to help you figure out your 10 family values, rhythms in your home, have a concrete plan for discipline you can parent united, places to write out how to help each child flourish based on their own needs and more.

That’s 9 pain points you might be struggling with. We’ve got a few other products but I’m betting one of the items listed is a pain point that is causing the most frustrations in your home. So start there friend. Our products were designed to pair prayer and action so that real change happens. If we can help you eliminate one of your biggest pain points, we fulfilled our mission!! 🙂
