Spreading Christmas Cheer

536c4e758fcde20bd4ae0f37acaa199cHi y’all!! Tyler and I have been talking a good bit about Christmas now that we’ve got little Vivi! This article by Jen Hatmaker really got us thinking. Do we want to make Christmas all about Santa? All about Jesus? Can we mix in a little of both??

One thing we know we want to teach her is how much better it is to give than to receive and just how blessed we are. There are tons of opportunities around this time of year to bless other people. My siblings and I decided we wouldn’t trade gifts. Truthfully, we don’t NEED anything. And there are people out there who really do NEED things. I hope to share a few opportunities that you can bless someone else this holiday season.

Aimee Arceneaux is sharing one special way today!

A year ago in November, my cousin Stephanie Bertrand died of breast cancer, a battle that she fought long and hard. Throughout her journey with cancer, she never missed an opportunity to serve others. She was always a light in the face of darkness. Her giving spirit touched many lives. One of the gifts that she has left behind is a breast cancer survivors group called the Pink Ribbon Divas.

Last year, as a way to remember Stephanie and continue her spirit of giving, our family and friends (anyone who wanted to really!) adopted a Pink Ribbon Diva who needed extra support during the holiday season. We gifted our Diva with money and gift cards and gifts beyond our own belief. We are continuing this tradition this year. The 2013 Diva has been selected and we have begun to collect money to help this special lady.

If you are interested in making a donation to the adopted Pink Ribbon Diva this holiday season, please message email me and I can give you more details!  Our deadline is December 15th as we will gifting her on December 18th!

Email Aimee at aimee.broussard@gmail.com or mail a donation to 304 Hallmark Avenue, Lafayette, LA, 70508.

If you have been affected by breast cancer, this might be the perfect way to bless someone who is also being affected by it!
