Our Christmas Inspiration!!

11.5.2012

Y’all, I have the sweetest husband. Whenever I dramatically start a conversation with him about the seriousness of what we need to discuss, and then ask him for his input on our Christmas inspiration, he always indulges me in the silliness. After all, it’s serious business!

What is our Christmas inspiration, you ask? It’s simply a fun color palette to inspire our holiday. Since I don’t have access to Martha Stewart’s prop closet, it doesn’t mean an overhaul of our Christmas decor each year. It mostly inspires gift packaging, gift giving and our wreath, and possibly our Christmas card and holiday entertaining.

This year, we (read I) went in a different direction from last year’s. Without further ado….

Wreath | Chalk Board | Stockings | Drinks | Ornaments | Twinkle

I have been loving all the wedding inspiration with boxwood or olive branches and just had to incorporate lots of greenery. I wanted to keep it fresh and not too classic so I thought adding in the chalk feel did that. And to keep it light and crisp, I added pale grey linen and even gold touches! Here are a few more photos that didn’t make it to the board but WILL be inspiring me!

Potted Tree | Flowers | Spoons | Gift

I am doing an early week of Christmas posts, including a gift list for people I’m shopping for and what’s on my own wish list. As I mentioned in this post, Tyler and I have procrastinated till the eleventh hour too often for Christmas. I know some will frown on starting things early, we’ve still got Thanksgiving after all! I’m usually one of those, actually! However this year, I really wanted to get a jump start so I can enjoy the meaning of Christmas and my friends and family without getting caught up in all the “have to’s” that Christmas can bring!  I’m currently reading this book to get me focused, too.

I’ll leave you with one of my favorite memories with Tyler was when we were just friends. I volunteered to help him go shopping for gifts for his family. It was either Christmas eve or the day before and traffic was horrendous!! While sitting in traffic, I couldn’t help but think it was still fun with him and I wasn’t really worried if we finished late. I asked Tyler questions to find out his favorites on different things. I thought it would eventually come in handy. It’s still in my notes app on my phone today! : )

I would LOVE to see y’alls inspiration for Christmas this year!! Post links below if you share your own!
